Dr. Frederick Foster, Sr. - "2009 Doctoral Recipient!!!"
Pastor Fred Foster, Sr. was born in Fulton County, Georgia and moved to Carrollton, Georgia at a very young age. In 1969, his family moved to Villa Rica, Georgia where he grew up. He was filled with the Holy Spirit and called into the ministry at age 17 under the leadership of Bishop Raymond Moss, Pastor of Back to the Bible Church.
After graduating from Villa Rica High School, Pastor Foster moved to Marietta, Georgia where he met his beautiful wife, Roxanne "McConnell" Foster. Through their union, the Lord blessed them with five children - three boys and two girls (Fred Jr., Neil, Ben, Amanda and Kimberly).
In 1973, Pastor Foster studied Horticulture and Business Management through the University of Georgia's Co-Op program. He started his own landscape company in 1978 that grew to approximately 34 employees and was the largest minority landscape company in the Atlanta area. He received several achievement awards including "Business Man of the Year" from Cobb County NAACP; "Best Landscape Design" from Better Homes and Gardens; and the "Corporate Facility Award" for Spalding Woods Office Park (Kern & Company) from Dorey Publishing Company.
While under the ministry of Back to the Bible, Pastor Foster founded the church in Villa Rica, Georgia. In 1991 he was led by the Holy Spirit to start his own ministry so that he could fulfill the call and purpose that God had given him for Villa Rica. The church, now known as Assembly of the Saints, began with less than 10 members. Currently, it is one of the fastest growing churches in Villa Rica.
Pastor Foster has always had a large vision for the Assembly of the Saints and its community. Because of his vision, he chose to further his education in efforts of maximizing the impact he has on the community. In 2003, Pastor Foster enrolled in Beacon University in Columbus, GA where he first received his Bachelor of Arts in Theology in 2006. He further went on to receive a double Master of Arts in Theology and Divinity in 2007. In September of 2009, Pastor Foster successfully completed and received his Doctoral Degree in Theology from Beacon University.
Under Pastor Foster's leadership, Assembly of the Saints has made a major impact on the City of Villa Rica. Dr. Foster has worked with the Villa Rica police and Douglas County sheriff officials to help eliminate drugs and drug houses. Additionally, he has worked with the City of Villa Rica to get grants to refurbish run-down houses or build new ones to take their place.
Within the last nine years, two buildings have been added to the Assembly of the Saints complex: a fellowship hall and family life center. The family life center contains a computer lab, fitness center, library, gymnasium, and meeting rooms. Dr. Foster's vision is to produce the will of God on earth in the lives of men, women, children and teens; to extend the whole message of Jesus Christ to as many people as possible on earth; to maximize the potential in people; and to recognize and support unity of the spirit in the body of Christ.
At the Assembly of the Saints Church, Dr. Fred Foster chooses to "Build on Biblical Principles To Provide Solutions For Everyday Problems in hopes of changing peoples lives. As a result, he has completed his first book entitled "The Emancipated Mind". This book is intended to birth individuals into their purpose in God.
